  • Cookery Books

    The Currie Balerno Rotary Club (RC) and MS Society Scotland have launched a cookery book, real recipes for real people, containing contributions from Rotary Clubs throughout the Southern Scotland District, MS Society branches and celebrity chefs including Gordon Ramsay. The joint venture aims to raise £50,000 to go towards MS research projects. The Western Isles MS Branch were fortunate to receive 44 books, those books are selling at £15 each, should you wish to reserve a copy please mail This book is selling fast, so it's first come first served, a super Christmas

  • ‘Local Hero’

    Rhoda Grant MSP for Highlands and Islands nominated Christine Stewart as her Local Hero for 2011. Here they both are pictured in the Scottish Parliment, Edinburgh.          

  • Christmas Bazaar 2010

    With the generosity of the people of the Western Isles we were able to raffle 3 Hampers and a Christmas flower arrangement. This raised nearly £400 for our Local Branch. A  big thanks to all who donated, those who gave time to help out, more hands make light work! Let's hope we can do even better this year.  

  • Cake Break

    This year Cake Break was held in the new Percival Square. The weather was in our favour, good to see so many people meeting with friends and enjoying a cuppa in the open air. The yellow T-shirts and balloons were a big attraction, an MS client from New Jersey spotted us and came for a visit. Thanks goes to the Grillburger, Stag and MacKinnon Bakeries for donations which was gratefully accepted, also those who donated home baking and the public for sharing the day with us! The sum of £331 was raised. See gallery for photos.

It was a busy year, Campaign meetings, Fundraising, and the MS Awareness Week Minutes of previous meeting read by Christine, agreed by Donnie and Muriel Election of Committee: Moira Macpherson nominated Donnie White as Chairman, Muriel Mackenzie seconded, Donnie accepted Ian Coulson nominated Kenny Maciver as Vice Chair,
