On Friday, December 23, Murdo O’Brien, Vice Captain of Stornoway Golf Club, presented cheques totalling £1,878 to local representatives of six charities.

 

The Golf Club organises charity competitions annually, and golfers contribute to the charities via their entry fees for the competitions.

Accepting the cheques were, from the top, Alison Ferguson (Macmillan Cancer Support), Euna Maciver and Mary Macleod (Lewis and Harris Breast Cancer Support Group), Janet Macfarlane (Western Isles Kidney Patients Association), Ellen Macdonald and Maggie Macleod (Royal National Lifeboat Institution), Christine Stewart (Multiple Sclerosis Society), and Jock Murray (Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre)

MS Society Western Isles Branch received  £264.50
